Shayna W.

I am Shayna and I am passionate about healing! My background is a range from Early Childhood Education, various forms of energy work, mental health services, to teaching and practicing yoga. I discovered yoga when I wanted to find myself in peak physical condition then soon discovered yoga was so much more. My yoga mat became a place where I could safely challenge my body, mind and spirit to go a little deeper. 

I started practicing yoga at home with my two children (Ages 4 and 6 at the time) where I noticed the positive impact it had. I started implementing yoga on the job when I worked in the mental health field. I remember doing Ananda Balasana  (Happy Baby Pose) with someone who could be very dangerous and I just remember the way he laughed when he was able to do it. That led me to the 200 hour yoga teacher training here at Yoga V in 2017 wanting to inspire others. My goal with teaching is to spread the belief that “yoga is for every body,” and hope to make yoga a part of everyone’s lives

When I am not on my mat my focus is being the mother to two amazing teenagers and living up to my title of “Crazy Aunt Shayna!” When I’m with my son we enjoy things like camping, off roading and monster trucks. When I’m with my daughter, we enjoy things from attending live events to having philosophical conversations while drinking chai tea. I am always up for a new adventure and enjoy a variety of things such as star gazing, boating, paddle boarding, corny jokes, reading, dancing and spending quality time with the people I love!
